The former Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi who recently joined Shiv Sena ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls was appointed as the “Upneta” of the party.

Priyanka Chaturvedi joined Shiv Sena in Mumbai after meeting party Chief Uddhav Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray earlier this month.

In a major blow to the Congress party, Priyanka Chaturvedi changed her Twitter Bio and removed ‘National Spokesperson, All India Congress Committee (AICC)’ from her Social Media Account hinting to leave the Congress party.

In a letter written to Congress President Rahul Gandhi after leaving the party, Chaturvedi said, ‘In the last few weeks certain things have convinced me that my services are not valued in the party organization and that I have subsequently reached at the end of the road.’ In her letter, She added, ‘What saddens me more is that despite the safety, dignity, and empowerment of women being promoted by the party as a priority and has been your call to action the same is not reflected in the action of some of the members of the party.’

Priyanka Chaturvedi was upset with the party after the party has reinstated Mathura leaders who had misbehaved with her and thus she took the decision of leaving the party. Chaturvedi had on April 17 took to Twitter and had slammed the Congress for its move.

Reportedly, Chaturvedi was willing to contest the polls from Mumbai Lok Sabha Seat. She was also eyeing Mathur Lok Sabha Seat. She is among the big face of the Congress party on national TV for a very long time.
