The Shiv Sena MP from Mumbai said doubts had been raised because the deal was finalized in 2016, while Modi had traveled to France in 2015 and announced the deal. “If Eurofighter was coming cheaper, why didn’t we renegotiate the deal,” he asked while saying that he was not satisfied with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s answers.

Referring to industrialist Anil Ambani as AA, as Congress president Rahul Gandhi did earlier, Sawant said: “PM took AA to France along with him. An offset contractor whose company was just on paper was given the contract. There must be a middleman who must have pushed for his case.”

While Naveen Patnaik‘s Biju Janta Dal seek a White Paper on the Rafale Issue. Without directly mentioning the JPC, BJD MP Kalikesh Deo underlined that issue of pricing and procedures remained critical and should be accounted for. BJD Member said that foregoing “transfer of technology” in Rafale deal required explanation. “The government should issue a white paper on this,” he added.
