A few days back Shiv Sena has indicated that it might reconsider its alliance with BJP and the ruling NDA. The party had cited that it did not want to be a part of the bad policies imposed by BJP, which are responsible for the suffering of the people.

These statement of the party came after the much ruckus about the rising fuel prices and the decline in GDP and slowing economy. Shiv Sena in its editorial mouthpiece Saamana had said that if the ruling NDA does not make a course correction in its fuel prices, it might break the alliance with BJP at Maharashtra and even at the Centre.

Recently once again on Friday, Shiv Sena taking a toll at the BJP government led by Narendra Modi questioned that the people are still waiting for the ‘acche din’ where are they? Earlier this week Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil has said that Shiv Sena, by protesting against its own ally, is making a fool of itself.

Responding to this Shive Sena in its mouthpiece replied that “Those who feel the Sena has made a mockery of itself are drunk with power. But our feet are firmly on the ground. Will you (Patil) also laugh when we say that people everywhere are laughing today because even after coming to power, acche din’ (good days) (promised by the BJP) never came.”

The party also said that if the ruling party is having problems with the protest of Shiv Sena than it should address the issues of inflation and problems faced by the poor and the farmers. It also said that the promise of loan waiver has turned out to a big commotion and nothing is clear about the intentions of the government. The farmers are confused and facing difficulties to meet the conditions imposed by the government, it added.

Also, the party reminded Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil the incident of Eknath Khadse, a senior BJP leader who resigned from the state cabinet last year following allegations of graft against him, to caution him.

In its editorial Saamana, the party said that Chandrakant Patil may share good relations with the BJP Party President Amit Shah, a member of the state cabinet and also a contender for the Chief MInister’s post, Patil should take a lesson from what happened to Eknath Khadse.

A few days back Shiv Sena attacking the Modi government over the slowing of the economy had mockingly questioned that was the high price of the fuel a means to pay back the debt taken from Japan for the bullet train project?

Responding to the threats of the party to withdraw from the alliance, Union minister Ramdas Athawale in his statement to the press had said that the ruling BJP in Maharastra do not see any threat if Shiv Sena pulls out of the alliance, the government will still survive. Though he suggested that they should not withdraw from the alliance.
