Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti unveiled in the state get together on Friday that the armed force had not documented any counter FIR in the Shopian terminating case.
“No two FIRs have been filed in the Shopian army firing case. The only FIR filed so far is the one registered by the police… and the army has given only its version but not filed a counter-FIR,” the CM informed the House.
J&K police had enlisted an FIR on January 28 against the armed force, charging its tenth Garhwal unit and a Major rank officer with ‘murder’ and ‘endeavor to kill’ over the killing of two adolescents in Kashmir’s Shopian locale the earlier day.
Eight civilians and seven soldiers were harmed in the heavy firing. Another teen succumbed to his wounds on January 31.
The armed force had filed a counter-FIR on January 28, four of its vehicles that had got isolated from the escort were assaulted by stone-pelters. Mehbooba told the gathering on Friday, “Examination will be straightforward and the liable would be sternly rebuffed.”
