The differences between the ruling parties have grown due to JD(S) state president AH Vishwanath and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah raising allegations on each other for not adhering to ‘coalition dharma’.

“What is so special about Siddaramaiah’s rule? Was his administration greater than that of Devraj Urs? People remember Devraj Urs even today, after 30 years. What great administration happened during Siddaramaiah’s time to remember it for decades? What major developmental work happened? Nothing,” said Vishwanath.

“Earlier it was state Higher Education Minister GT Deve Gowda making such comments, and now it’s Vishwanath. Who is going to be next? It’ll help if seniors in the Janata Dal (Secular) take note of this,” he said, adding that “coalition dharma” was the only thing holding him back,” Siddaramaiah had said.

While all this the war of words between Congress and BJP still continued on MLAs of both parties switching sides.

Earlier Yeddyurappa‘s comments on the ‘longevity of the state governments’ and 20 MLAs to join BJP was contradicted by Congress’ KC Venugopal who said that BJP MLAs would in fact be joining Congress. “We are very much confident that in the parliamentary election, there will be a government at the Centre under the leadership of the Indian National Congress. The people of the country are now very much for a change and that will happen on May 23…then how can they (BJP) destabilise the Karnataka government after May 23? We are not going to poach any MLAs from the BJP, but naturally they will come to the Congress after May 23. Naturally that is going to happen,” he said.
