Navjot Singh Sidhu, the cricketer-turned-politician has filed his nomination for the Punjab Assembly Election from Amritsar East constituency. Wednesday was the last day to file nominations for the upcoming Punjab Elections on February 4th. At the same time, Punjab congress chief, Amarinder Singh filed his nomination from Lambi.

Amarinder Singh will take on current Punjab chief minister, Mr. Prakash Singh Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) from Lambi set, which also has former Delhi legislator and AAP’s Jarnail Singh contesting against the two heavyweights. Amarinder Singh has filed his nomination from Patiala Urban seat as well on Tuesday.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, who had joined Congress recently, was accompanied to the election commission’s office by local congress leaders and his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu. Mr Sidhu is contesting the elections against Amritsar BJP Chief, Rajesh Kumar Honey.

Bhagwant Mann, current MP from Sangrur, has filed his nomination from Jalalabad. He will be contesting against current punjab’s deputy chief minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal. The Jalalabad seat will have its third candidate as congress MP and grandson of former Punjab Chief minister, Beant Singh.
