Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in his speech at the Univesity of California in Berkeley had said that the problem of Dynast politics is faced by many political parties in India. “Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast. (MK) Stalin is a dynast… Even Abhishek Bachchan is a dynast. Don’t go after me because the entire country is running like that. That’s what happens in India. ” he had said.

Reacting to the statement made by the Congress Vice President, Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday said that Rahul Gandhi was a failed dynast. She said that a filed dynast spoke about his failed political journey back there in the US. Attacking Rahul, in her statement during a press conference at the BJP office in New Delhi, Smriti said that “after failing to connect with the people of India, Mr Gandhi chooses a platform of convenience to berate his political opponents. He saying that dynasts and dynasties are the very fulcra of India in itself is an anomaly.”

The Information and Broadcasting Minister also criticised the Rahul Gandhi for downplaying the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an international platform. She also pointed out that it is for the first time that Congress Vice President himself taunted against its own party of being arrogant back in 2012. She further added that the statement given by Rahul Gandhi during his speech at the University in itself is a big political confession made by Rahul Gandhi, despite knowing that back in 2012 his mother Sonia Gandhi was leading the party. Rahul had said that Congress had become arrogant in 2012 and hence lost the elections.
