Congress is gearing up to fight against the strongly established BJP government in Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Both the parties have well in advance rolled their sleeves up for the General Elections due in 2019 preparing their election campaign and focusing in the weak areas.

BJP holds a strong foothold in Jharkhand and Congress is taking measures to establish the party in the state now. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has recently appointed PL Puniya and RPN Singh as AICC in-charge of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Both these Congress leaders are also in the good books of Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.

Sonia has also formed a communication strategy group to ensure that the election campaigns are executed properly and smoothly. The group will also focus on reinforcing the party’s publicity theme to lure the voters in the state. The strategy group includes Mallikarjun Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram and few other Congress members.
