The Congress party is holding a Bharat Bachao rally to highlight the ‘divisive and disruptive’ policies of the Narendra Modi government. The rally has been organized by interim party chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital.
Mounting a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi government, Sonia Gandhi said, “Today the atmosphere is such that whenever they feel like they impose an Article, revoke an Article, change the status of a state. Whenever they feel like, they revoke President’s Rule & pass Bills without debate.
The protest rally comes in wake of crippling economic slowdown and raging protests across the Northeast and in West Bengal over the Citizenship Amendment Act. Delhi Congress president Subhash Chopra has claimed that over 50,000 people from the national capital are taking part in the protest.
Top leaders of the party like Priyanka Gandhi, P Chidambaram, Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Bhupinder Singh Hooda have addressed the rally.
