Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his satisfaction over the featuring of the Statue of Unity in TIME magazine’s ”World’s 100 Greatest Places of 2019”. The monument of Gujarat has landed itself in the magazine’s list owing to its brilliant architecture and grandeur design.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Statue of Unity on Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31 at a grand ceremony last year. The structure is located in Narmada district. The statue is twice as tall as New York building.

Ram V Sutar, an architect from Maharashtra designed the building. Prime Minister also said the 182-meter statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel generated a massive footfall of 34,000 visitors in a single day recently.

Mumbai’s Soho House was another Indian building that was featured in the Time magazine’s list.

ABOUT THE PROJECT-

Statue of Unity is dedicated to freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhai Patel. He was the first Home Minister of the nation. He is celebrated for his efforts of integrating 552 princely states at the time of independence. The hight of the structure is 182 meters. It is located on a river island facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on Narmada river in Kevadiya colony.
