Deputy inspector of prison (DIG) Roopa Moudgil submitted a report to the government saying that AIADMK General Secretary and convict VK Sasikala Natarajan, her sister-in-law, Elavarasi and nephew VK Sudhakaran were getting the royal treatment in the women’s cell. In her report, she also wrote about the smuggling of drugs and rampant corruption prevailing in the jail.
Regarding her report, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered for a detailed investigation of the allegations made by Roopa and also to strictly look into the matter of Sasikala being given special prevailing in the jail. He also said that strict actions will be taken against anyone found guilty during the investigation.

Roopa Moudgil in her letter to DGP Satyanarayana Rao, she has also alleged him of receiving Rs 1 crore as bribe for giving special treatment to Sasikala and additional Rs 1 crore is distributed among other police officials for the same. In the letter, Roopa has requested to take fair actions to find out the truth.
The letter read that “As unfortunately, these allegations are also against you, it is requested that you look into the matter and take merciless disciplinary action against erroneous officials.”
However, DGP Rao has denied all the allegations charged by Roopa calling it absolutely false, baseless and wild and said that he will take legal recourse against is junior.
