Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has organised a meeting and requested all the parties to attend the meet on Sunday, a day ahead of the starting of the monsoon session of the Parliament. The meeting will be held in Parliament’s Library Building.

Mahajan has organised the meeting in order to ensure smooth functioning of the session, seeking cooperation from all the parties. The opposition parties are likely to raise many issues during the session, including the riots in Bengal, terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Sino-India border issue, implementation of GST and much more.

The speaker will also ask all the parties to cooperate during the customary meeting ahead of the monsoon session scheduled to end on 10 August.

The Monsoon session will start from 17 July, on the first day of the session both the houses, most probably will not be holding any discussion, on account of the death of two MPs, Vinod Khanna (Lok Sabha) and P Goverdhan Reddy (Rajya Sabha). On the same day voting for the Presidential elections will be held.
