External Affair Minister, Sushma Swaraj has directed the Indian High Commission in Islamabad to give visa to Pakistani patients after a Pakistani woman named Hijaab Asif sought for her urgent intervention.

Sushma Swaraj tweeted for the same and mentioned Indian High Commissioner’s name, Gopal Bambawale, in her tweet. In response to her tweet, Gopal Bambawale said that “Ma’am, we are in touch with the applicant. Rest assured we will follow it up.”

Earlier Sushma Swaraj has tweeted that if any Pakistani patient wants to come to India for medical treatment, would be given a visa immediately but the patient must have a recommendation letter from Pakistan Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Sartaj Aziz. So this time she has sought a confirmation from Hijaab Asif whether she has got a recommendation letter from Aziz or not. For this Hijaab said that Aziz has told them that everything is up to Sushma Swaraj.

Touched by Swaraj’s prompt response, Asif praised Swaraj and even said that Pakistan would have changed had she been the prime minister of her country.
