Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Stalwart Sushma Swaraj who did not contest the Lok Sabha Polls 2019, on Thursday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving her an opportunity to workers for NRIs and countrymen. Swaraj who was External Affairs Ministers in Modi’s previous Cabinet did get a Cabinet Berth this time because of her health issues.

She also thanked Prime Minister for giving her respect. In a tweet, Swaraj said, ‘Prime Minister-you gave me a chance to serve the countrymen and the diaspora as foreign minister for five years, and I have also been personally honored throughout the entire term. I am very grateful to you. Our government runs well, this is my prayer to the Lord’.

She had in December last year opted out of the poll race citing her illness. She held the External Affairs Portfolio and has been active and popular for reaching out to Indians in distress for assistance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi who got a massive mandate in recently held national polls, on Thursday took oath for the second term in an official function at Rashtrapati Bhawan. President Ram Nath Kovind administrated oath to PM and his Council of Ministers. A total of 57 ministers took oath as ministers of the next Union Cabinet at the ceremony held in the national capital.

Beside Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley who held a Finance Portfolio in previous government had on Wednesday wrote a letter to PM Modi requesting him not to induct him in the next government.

If Sources to be believed, Amit Shah is among the frontrunners for Finance Portfolio while S Jaishankar likely to be rewarded with External Affairs Portfolio. While Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman both are expected to retain their portfolios.

A total of 57 ministers along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath at a mega-ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party, on May 23 scripted history by bagging 303 seats on its own in the recently concluded national polls. Along with its allies, it took its tally to 352 Lok Sabha Seats out of 542 Seats were national polls held in April-May in seven phases.
