Bharatiya Janata Party Unit of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday asked all its spokesperson to maintain a distance from the TV Debate. The Party has decided that it will not send its spokesperson in any TV News Debate.

In the statement issued BJP Tamil Nadu President Tamilisai Soundararajan, she asked all the Spokesperson not to be a part of Television news debates.

Slamming the TV Channels, Soundararajan has alleged that they are ‘biased’ and the party did not get equal opportunity in TV News Debates.

BJP, despite registering a resounding victory in the national polls, could not do well in Tamil Nadu where it had forged an alliance with the ruling AIADMK. AIADMK led Alliance of which BJP was a part lost 37 seats out the 38 Lok Sabha seat. With Panneerselvam’s son, P Raveendranath was the lone winner from Theni constituency.

DMK who led the Secular Progressive Alliance of which Congress, communist parties, Vaiko’s MDMK and Dalit outfit VCK were a part, had won 37 of the 38 Parliamentary seats that went to polls in Tamil Nadu.

Earlier, a similar move was taken by Congress after it faced a humiliating victory in the national polls 2019. The party had in May announced that it will not take part in news Debates for a month and asked all their spokespersons to stay away from participating in news debate.
