The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday constituted a 15-Member Committee to draft party’s Manifesto in a run-up to the Lok Sabha Polls 2019 and State Polls that are slated to clubbed with General Elections. The 15-member panel will be headed by Politburo member and state Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. While Ramakrishnudu will be the committee convenor, Information and Public Relations Minister Kalava Srinivasulu will be the co-convenor.

Telugu Desam Party apart from appointing Cabinet Ministers as Convenor and Co-Convenor, the party has appointed Five other ministers, four legislators, a retired IAS officer, and three other party functionaries to be in the 15 member panel that will look after the affairs of drafting the Manifesto.

Elections in the State and General Elections to the Lok Sabha are due for April-May this year.

According to Party Insiders, A 15 member panel is expected to complete the manifesto drafting exercise by March, though no timeline has been set before the Committee.

Apart from appointing Manifesto Drafting Committee, The TDP is preparing to announce the first list of its candidates before the notification for the elections is issued, claimed party Insiders.

N Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is currently busy choosing Candidates for the  Legislative Council election scheduled for March 12. Notification for the Council election, to fill five seats falling vacant on March 29, will be issued on February 21 and the last date for filing nominations is February 28.

These five seats are to be filled under the Legislative Assembly quota.

Telugu Desam Party who had earlier stitched an alliance with Congress in Telangana is planning to go ‘alone’ in the state. However, Sources further claimed that Chandrababu Naidu will continue to support pan-India Front against ruling Bhartiya Janta Party.

TDP once an ally of NDA had exiled National Democratic Alliance led by BJP last year describing ‘Injustice’ to Andhra Pradesh over Special Status Issue.
