Sandra Venkat Veeraiah, now, a former legislature of the TDP(Telugu Desam Party) on Sunday switched his loyalty to the TRS(Telangana Rashtra Samiti) of KCR.

He was one of the 2 legislators that TDP had out of 119 seats in the assembly.

Just a day prior to that, 2 MLAs of the Congress had quit the party and joined TRS(Telangana Desam Party). Rega Kantha Rao and Athram Sakku, both tribal MLAs, announced that if necessary they would resign from the Assembly to seek fresh election from their respective constituencies.

Congress now has 17 more members in the Telangana Assembly, out of 119.

Sandra Venkat Veeraiah said that he was impressed with the welfare programmes initiated by the TRS government in Telangana, which is the reason he joined TRS.

SV Veeraiah, represents Telangana’s Sathupalli constituency in Khammam district, he represents the constituency for the 3rd consecutive time, told the media that his decision to join TRS is because he wants development for his constituency.

TRS( Telangana Rashtra Samiti) led by KCR, previously swept 88 seats out of 119 in the recent elections. It has fielded five candidates and left one seat for its ally Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), as per a report.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh CM and TDP Chief alleged KCR of threatening his people in order to support Jaganmohan Reddy, after the IT department conducted raids on the firm that developed TDP’s SevaMitra app.
