Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao inducted 6 new cabinet ministers on Sunday. He expanded his 12 member cabinet administration to induct new leaders from the state.

The cabinet leaders were sworn-in by recently appointed Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. She administered them the oath of office and secrecy at Raj Bhavan. Now, the cabinet strength has reached a tally of 18 members. Last addition was done by the Chief Minister in the month of February. On February 19, Mr. Rao had expanded his two-member cabinet by inducting ten new cabinet ministers.

The latest appointment includes new faces like Gangula Kamalakar (Karimnagar MLA), P Ajay Kumar from Khammam, and MLC from Warangal Satyavathi Rathod. The cabinet also includes Chief Minister’s son KT Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao (Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA). Previously, there was no woman minister in the cabinet, but now it has been sorted out. Satyavathi Rathod and P Sabita Indra Reddy are the two women ministers selected on the cabinet team.

Cabinet Portfolios-

KT Rama Rao- Municipal Administration, Industries and Information Technology

T Harish Rao- Finance

P Sabita Indra Reddy- Education

Satyavathi Rathod- Scheduled Tribes, Women and Child Welfare

Gangula Kamalakar- Backward Classes Welfare and Civil Supplies

Puvvada Ajay Kumar- Transport

Sabitha Indra Reddy was Home Minister in the previous Congress government in Andhra Pradesh while Harish Rao used to head the irrigation portfolio earlier. Now, their roles have been transformed into new shapes.

Apart from the induction of fresh blood in the cabinet line-up, some major reshuffling was also done in portfolio allocations. Education portfolio was shifted from G Jagdish Reddy to Sabita Indra Reddy. Now G Jagdish Reddy will look after the Energy portfolio. Transport portfolio has been removed from the charge of V Prashant Reddy and has been allocated to Ajay Kumar.
