Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Jagan Mohan Reddy is slated to meet today. The two Chief Ministers are expected to discuss the issues pertaining to the two Telugu States and the issue of sharing of river water. The meeting is slated to take place at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad sources confirmed on Thursday.

Earlier to this, K Chandrashekhar Rao had attended Jagan Reddy’s swearing-in ceremony on May 30 in Amaravati. The two leaders have met a couple of times in past one month after Jagan Mohan stormed to power in Andhra unseating incumbent Chandrababu Naidu.

Former Andhra CM Chandrababu and Telangana CM KCR had a bitter relation with both did not see eye to eye.

In their earlier meetings, both the bigwigs discussed the issues related to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014. Among the other issues discussed by the Chief Ministers include the division of resources post-bifurcation, division of public sector utility and division employees in the power sector.

Both leaders have also agreed to work together for the development of the Telugu States.

The new Andhra Pradesh government led by Jagan has recently handed over the buildings in its control in the Secretariat complex to Telangana. The buildings had been Hyderabad was the common capital for both the states for 10 years beginning 2014.

Despite after 5 years of bifurcation of both the states, including the division of resources post-bifurcation, division of public sector utility and division employees in the power sector, among others are pending due to lack of agreement.

The good relation between both KCR and Jagan will help in resolving these pending issues.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP in recently held polls registered a landslide victory in both assembly and national polls in the state. YRSCP won 151 assembly seats out of the 175 assembly seat in the state and 22 Lok Sabha Seats out of 25.
