Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will visit Mumbai and will personally invite Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram Project. K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR among his supporters, will be visiting his Maharastra counterpart at his residence on Friday.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday spoke to his Maharashtra counterpart and the latter agreed to attend the event. ‘Hon’ble CM Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has invited Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sri Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Guest for the inauguration of Lift Irrigation Project on 21st of this month. CM has spoken with Sri Devendra Fadnavis over the telephone today’, CMO Telangana tweeted on June 12.

‘CM will be visiting Mumbai shortly to extend an invitation to the CM of Maharashtra personally’, CMO Telangana added.

He will personally extend the invitation to Fadnavis to be the Chief Guest for the Inauguration Event slated for June 21.

Earlier, the government officials claimed that KCR will also personally visit newly elected Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Earlier after storming to power in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met KCR and discussed to work together for the development of both Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Hailing his state government, KCR had earlier said that Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project will create history as the largest lift irrigation project built. He added that the constructing such a large project in a such a short period of three years is proof of the government’s efficiency and technological excellence’, Chief Minister KCR said on June 2 on the occasion of the Telangana Foundation Day.

The total estimated cost of the project is ₹80,500 crore and is the costliest project undertaken by the state. The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is aimed to irrigate 7,38,851 hectares of Land and will benefit the areas of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Medak, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy Districts.
