Telangana Prominent Faces KT Rama Rao, Jagadish Reddy, Congress State Working President Revanth Reddy, and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Uttam Kumar Reddy’s wife Padamavathi filed their nominations for the December 7 assembly elections on Monday, which is the last day for the procedure.

The State having 119 seats in the assembly will poll in a single phase on December 7, and the results will be announced along with the other 4 state assembly election results. The Filing of nomination in the state had opened on November 12 which came to a close on Monday, November 19. The Announcement on the total number of nominations is expected soon.

Scrutiny of papers of the filed nomination has been fixed for Tuesday while the last date for withdrawal is November 22.

K.T.Rama Rao, son of Chief Minister and TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao, filed his nomination from Sirsilla constituency in Rajanna Sircilla District. Congress has fielded K K Mahender Reddy against Rama Rao. Revanth Reddy filed his papers from Kodangal in Vikarabad district.

The Telangana Rashtriya Samithi is going it alone in the elections, advanced after the party government chose to dissolve the assembly ahead of its term. While Congress has formed a ‘grand alliance’. The Congress, TDP, Telangana Jana Samiti and CPI have joined hands to form a ‘Grand Alliance’ for the December 7 Assembly Polls in Telangana. However, the major opposition, Congress is contesting on the majority of seats in an assembly of 119 seats. The TDP will field its candidates in 14 seats, the TJS in 8 while CP in 3.

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is contesting the polls alone.

The results of the 119 seats assembly elections will be declared on December 11.
