Trinamool Congress (TMC) in a bid to go nationally released its manifesto on Wednesday that focuses more on national issues than it’s previous manifestos. Mamata Banerjee-led TMC in its poll manifesto termed the Demonetization a big scam and promised to initiate a Top Court monitored Inquiry if voted to power in the General Elections 2019.

The West Bengal ruling party has also promised the revival of Planning Commission, doubling the MNREGA Scheme with 200 days of employment and Simplification of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Kolkata headquartered party also promised to resolve the Kashmir Issue once a ‘new government’ is formed after the mega battle of ballots.

Addressing the press in her Official Residence, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee explained why the party has given so much importance to national Issues in its manifesto. Mamata said, ‘The Scenario in 2014 was completely different as of now, Nation has suffered a lot in the past 5 years. This is the need of the hour and hence we have added many national issues in our manifesto’ Wes Bengal CM said.

She added that she will discuss these issues with other Opposition parties before the Pan India Common Minimum Programme (CMP) is finalized. A ‘new government’ is formed after the national elections and will address all such issues, she asserted.

Mamata Banerjee who has already announced all her candidates in West Bengal for the mega Polls further blamed BJP-led Central Government for implementing GST in a hurried manner. ‘We will constitute a Committee of experts those will simply the GST’ after a new government is formed, She said. She further said that the Planning Commission will be revived once we will form a government after the national elections.

She further asserted the need and will of resolving the Kashmir Issue. She said will stay back in Valley if needed but the Kashmir Issue has to be resolved. She said It was me who volunteered to go during the Kandahar plane hijacking’. We have to take people of the Kashmir into Confidence.

Apart from all this, TMC also promised to double the pay of MNREGA and promised 200 days of employment. Mamata Banerjee said we will also focus on payment of MNREGA workers and would ensure that pay should not be delayed by 15 days.

TMC Supremo who has given tickets to 40% of women candidates said we have also focused on women in our manifesto.

However, Mamata Banerjee refused to comment on the Rahul Gandhi‘s poll promise of NYAY, promising financial assistance of Rs 72,000 annually to poor families. She also refused to comment on Rahul Gandhi’s recent criticism of the state of affairs in West Bengal under the TMC.

Trinamool Congress in a run-up to the General Elections 2019 will take on aggressive BJP, Congress and Left front led by CPI(M). Ruling Trinamool Congress has already announced its candidates on all 42 Lok Sabha seats with over 40% tickets distributed to female candidates.

Polls in all 42 Lok Sabha Seats of West Bengal will spread in all seven phases starting from April 11.
