Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party, on May 23 again scripted history by bagging 303 seats on its own in the recently concluded national polls. Along with its allies, it took its tally to 352 Lok Sabha Seats out of 542 Seats were national polls held in April-May in seven phases.

The Bharatiya Janata Party registered a landslide victory in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, among others. While the saffron party also managed to gain big in West Bengal and Odisha – the strongholds of regional parties TMC and BJD respectively.

The Congress won 52 seats in the recently held polls, which is only 8 more than it got in 2014 national polls. It has also lost some of its strongholds across the country including Rahul Gandhi’s Amethi in Uttar Pradesh and Jyotiraditya Scindia‘s Guna in Madhya Pradesh.

Here we have compiled a list of Candidates who registered a victory by a massive margin in the recently held national polls:

1. CR Patil (BJP) – Navsari (Gujarat)

Bharatiya Janata Party Candidate from Navsari Lok Sabha Seat in Gujarat defeated Congress nominee Patel Dharmeshbhai Bhimbhai with the highest margin of 6.89 Lakh votes. Patil who was seeking re-election from the Navsari seat secured 9,72,739 against 2,83,071 votes secured by his opponent Bhimbhai.

2. Sanjay Bhatia (BJP) – Karnal (Haryana)

Sanjay Bhatia is among those candidates who registered a massive victory and entered 6-Lakh clubs. Bhatia contesting from Karnal Lok Sabha Seat defeated Congress Kuldeep Sharma with a margin of 6.56 lakh votes. Bhatia secured 9,11,594 votes while Sharma got 2,55,452 nearly 40% less than Bhatia.

3. Krishan Pal (BJP) – Faridabad (Haryana)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Candidate from Faridabad Krishna Pal registered a resounding victory with a third highest margin in the recently held general polls 2019. He defeated Congress Avatar Singh Bhadana with 6.38 Lakh votes. Securing over 68% of votes, Pal got 9,13,222 votes against 2,74,983 of Bhadana.

4. Subhash Chandra Baheria (BJP) – Bhilwara (Rajasthan)

Subhash Chandra Baheria won the Lok Sabha Polls 2019 with a heavy margin of 6.12 Lakh votes and become another BJP Nominee to enter 6-Lakh Club. Baheria contesting from Bhilwara Lok Sabha Seat in Rajasthan defeated Congress Candidate Ram Pal Sharma. Baheria secured 9,38,160 with 71.59% vote share while Congress nominee secured 3,26,160 votes.

4. Ranjan Bhatt (BJP) – Vadodara (Gujarat)

Ranjanben Bhatt seeking reelection from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat defeated Congress Prashant Patel with a heavy margin of 5.89 lakh votes. Bhatt in the recently held polls secured 8,83,719 votes against 2,94,542 of Congress nominee. Vadodara Lok Sabha Seat was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s second seat in 2014. He later vacated the seat and held Varanasi.

5. Amit Shah (BJP) – Gandhinagar (Gujarat)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah in his first electoral competition registered a second highest victory in terms of vote margin. Shah defeated Dr. CJ Chavda of Indian National Congress with a heavy margin of 5.55 Lakh votes. Shah who has been named by the party from its stronghold Gandhinagar secured 8,94,624 votes against 3,37,610 by Chavda.

Gandhi Nagar Lok Sabha Seat has been held by LK Advani in past for six times. Advani had in 2014 General Elections won the seat with a heavy margin of over 4 lakh votes.

6. Hansraj Hans (BJP) – North West Delhi

Hans Raj Hans in North West Delhi entered Lok Sabha with a margin of 5.53 Lakh votes. He defeated his nearest rival AAP’s Gugan Singh in recently held national polls. Singer-turned-politician secured 8,48,663 votes against 2,94,766 of Gugan Singh. Hansraj Hans was named by the party after replacing sitting MP Udit Raj.

7. Uday Pratap Singh (BJP) – Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh)

Singh returned to the Lok Sabha by a margin of 5.53 lakh votes from Madhya Pradesh’s Hoshangabad Lok Sabha Seat. He defeated Congress Candidate Shailendra Diwan who secured 3,24,245 while Singh secured 8,77,927 and 69.35% vote share.

8. Darshana Jardosh (BJP) – Surat (Gujarat)

Darshana Jardosh, a nominee from Surat Gujarat is among those candidates who registered a victory by the highest margin in recently concluded national polls. Jardosh defeated her rival by a margin of 5.47 lakh votes. Darshana Jardosh who was seeking re-election from Surat secured 7,95,651 votes while 2,47,421 were polled on Congress Candidate Ashok Patel (Adhevada).

9. Shankar Lalwani (BJP) – Indore (Madhya Pradesh)

Shankar Lalwani, who contested from Indore in Madhya Pradesh on BJP ticket after Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan opted out of the race, defeated his nearest Congress rival by a margin of 5.47 lakh votes. Lalwani secured 10,68,569 vote against his nearest rival Pankaj Sanghvi who secured 5,20,815.

Former Lok Sabha Speaker and Sumitra Mahajan had in 2014 General Elections defeated  Congress‘ Satyanarayan Patel with over 4.50 Lakh votes. She has represented the Indore Lok Sabha Seat eight time since 1989.

10. VK Singh (BJP) – Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh)

BJP’s General V K Singh wins from Ghaziabad seat defeating his nearest rival Samajwadi Party’s Suresh Bansal by a margin of over 5 lakh votes. Singh secured 9,44,503 votes while Suresh Bansal of Samajwadi Party polled 4,43,003 votes. He had in 2014 also registered a massive victory when he defeated Congress’ Raj Babbar by 5,67,260 votes.
