Top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including working President of the party JP Nadda on Monday hailed Union Government‘s decision to revoke Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to Twitter, JP Nadda said, ‘Today Narendra Modi-led government has lifted Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, offering a true homage to the founder of Jan Sangh, our inspiration Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Mukherjee’s supreme sacrifice was successful from Today, there will be no “two laws, two principal, two marks”.

Hailing his government, BJP National President Amit Shah in a tweet said, ‘Kashmir has always been an integral part of India but this decision will ensure that there will no more be Two Symbol-Two Constitution in J&K. This decision is a tribute to all the patriots who made the supreme sacrifice for a united India. Congratulations to the entire nation’.

While former Union Minister and Stalwart Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj also welcomed the Centre’s move to scrap article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Taking to Twitter, Sushma Swaraj said, ‘A bold and historic decision. We salute our Great India – one India.’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani reacted to the development saying that it is a bold step towards strengthening national integration.

In a statement, BJP Veteran leader said, ‘I am happy with the government’s decision to revoke Article 370 and I believe that it is a bold step towards strengthing national integration’.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also congratulated PM Modi for the Historic move. He, in a tweet, said, ‘Compliments to Hon. PM Shri Narendra Modi ji and Hon. HM Shri Amit Shah ji for taking a bold step to correct a historic wrong! #BharatEkHai’.

The dream which started from Lal Chowk in 1992 led to an incredible journey of a leader who made history today by taking this step to fulfil aspirations of people in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh’, he said in a tweet on Monday.

Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah tabled a resolution to this effect in Rajya Sabha after President Ram Nath Kovind issued a notification – The Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 2019, that will come into force immediately.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also moved the Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganization), Bill in the Upper House of the Parliament. The Bill sought the bifurcation of the state into two Union Territory with Jammu and Kashmir having a legislature and while Ladakh without legislature.

Home Minister also introduced the bill to extend 10% EWS (Economically weaker sections) quota to Jammu state. The Parliament is in an uproar on the introduced bills.

The government has replaced the 1954 presidential order with the newly published Presidential order, 2019. 1954 order was called on to inculcate 35A under Article 370. Article 35A lets Jammu Kashmir define its residents and make special provisions for them.
