Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday while addressing a poll rally extended support to Andhra Pradesh people for their demand for Special Status. Speaking in a poll rally at Vikarabad district, TRS Boss also extended his support for Polavaram project.

Lashing out at his Andhra Counterpart Chandrababu Naidu, K Chandrashekhar Rao said, ‘We are not against the people of Andhra Pradesh rather we are against an Individual like Chandrababu Naidu’, he said in a poll rally while blaming Naidu of creating problems.

He added that he is in favor of Development of Andhra Pradesh, and claimed that he has no problems with the Andhra. He said, ‘He wants development for both the state – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’.

Later speaking in the public meeting at Chevella District, KCR openly backed Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh. While asserting the confidant of a clean sweep in Telangana with its ally – AIMIM, he said’ We (TRS and AIMIM) and YSR in Andhra will have 35-36 Parliamentary Seats, we together will make efforts for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking in the poll rally K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR also racked up TDP Boss and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister for continuously dragging his name in his campaigns.

Commenting on the Polavaram Project, Telangana Chief Minister said he does not have any problem with the project, we have never opposed it and will never will, except submergence of Telangana villages.

It should be noted that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who is seeking another term had intensified his hunt for Special Status for the Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu had in February sat on Day-Long Protest in Delhi situated Andhra Bhawana demanding Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. TDP Members in Winter Session of Parliament has made several protests outside and within the house demanding special status to the State. However, Centre has clearly ruled out the possibilities of granting Special Status to Andhra Pradesh.

The demand to grant special Status to Andhra Pradesh came to the forefront after the bifurcation of the state into two Parts that carved out Telangana in 2014.

Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Hyderabad, was also shifted to Telangana after bifurcation in 2014.

Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will go to polls on April 11, in the first round of voting. Telangana has a total of 17 Lok Sabha Seats, while Andhra Pradesh has 25 Lok Sabha Seats.

Telangana will vote to elect new parliamentarians while in Andhra Pradesh, State Polls and Lok Sabha Polls are slated to be clubbed.
