Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) Nizamabad MP and K Chandrashekhar Rao‘s Daughter K Kavitha on Wednesday said that her party is working to cement a third front that would have neither Bhartiya Janata Party nor Indian National Congress.

“A federal front is being floated. We believe that a neutral platform should be established which is free of both BJP and Congress. Our agenda is to address the people of this nation. There have been various political groupings in the country which failed while few succeeded,” she told reporters here.

Kavitha also said that in the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 Elections regional parties will have a greater role to play in the national picture unlike national parties because former can address the aspirations and issues of the people of that particular region unlike the later.

Talking about her party’s Landslide Victory in the Telangana Polls She said “We have done it in Telangana. We want to replicate the same at a national level and we will certainly work towards it and will form an alliance which will not have either BJP or Congress,” she said.

Telangana Rashtriya Samithi registered a Landslide Victory bagging 88 seats out of 119 seats in the recently held state polls.

Kavitha while reacting on DMK Leader MK Stalin backing the name of Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial Candidate, TRS MP said TRS is not part of that grouping that backs Rahul Gandhi as its PM Candidate and pointed out that the move had been “opposed” by some members of that grouping.

She said that in the so-called semi-final before the Lok Sabha elections next year, the Congress could not do well in Telangana and did not get a clear mandate in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The TDP MP said if there was a strong regional party in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, it would have played a major role just like in Telangana.

She hits out at the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), saying it has “miserably failed” on the delivery of various promises made to people.

Reacting on the accusations made by both Congress and BJP for being B-Teams of each other She said: “We are not ‘B’ team of anybody but ‘B’ team of Indian people.”

She justified her father’s remarks in which he had termed Rahul Gandhi as a “buffoon”.

“The whole nation watched when the Congress chief breaking all established practices and protocols of Parliament suddenly hugged a Prime Minister. Everybody felt it was a very silly move and that is why our leader responded,” she said.
