While speaking to the media on Wednesday, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray extended his support to his cousin Raj Thackeray who was summoned by Enforcement Directorate in IL&FS- Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services case.
He told media persons that ED would not find anything against his cousin in their investigation. He backed Raj Thackeray and said the case filed against him will not yield any result. Manohar Joshi and Unmesh Joshi, son of former Maharashtra chief minister were also summoned in IL&FS-Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services case.
The issued summon to the top brass leader of MNS party has left the party workers in anger. The party claims that the ruling party is using political vendetta against the leader. It said that the ruling government is doing this to counter Raj Thackeray’s efforts to join the opposition in Maharashtra. The summon has been confirmed by MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande. It is expected that Raj Thackeray will join the probe on Thursday.
It is said that ED is interested in knowing Thackeray’s exit from the group as in 2011, Kohinoor CTNL signed an agreement to sell some commercial-residential premises in Kohinoor Square to IL&FS. It settled Rs. 500 crore as the pending loan amount. But after the settlement, IL&FS lent a further Rs 135 crore to Kohinoor CTNL, on which it defaulted
