UDF demanded re-polling in 100 polling booths in Kasaragod where 90% polling was recorded.

The UDF ordered re-polling in Kasaragod where 90% votes were cast owing to widespread bogus voting in Kasaragod and Kannur. The UDF doubts that because of bogus voting votes have been distributed to specific political parties. The party has also written to Chief Electoral Officers in Kasaragod and Kannur. They have alleged of malpractices in Kalliassery, Thrikkaripur, Payyannur constituencies. They allege the presiding officers of being part of the whole game. Voting using fake ID cards has been yet another allegation.

Other than the two women who were seen to be casting bogus votes, another resident of Karakkad, K Shyamkumar, was also seen entering the poll station two times. The case  registered under 33 of CrPC has been sent to the district collector  on Tuesday. the UDF mentions that legal proceedings to be taken against the man. Besides this the allegation of bogus voting of NRIs.

“From video evidence, it could be seen that the Left has cast about 5,000 bogus votes in Kasargod constituency,” said opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. The incident of bogus voting was confirmed after Chief Electoral officer Teeka Ram Meena confirmed the news after investigation.
