Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP Star Campaigner Yogi Adityanath will visit Amethi on Tuesday to seek votes and galvanize support for Union Minister Smriti Irani in the coming mega polls due for May 6.

BJP Leader Yogi Adityanath in the district will address a poll rally at Maurya Ki Bag, in the Jagdishpur Assembly Segment to seek support for BJP Candidate Smriti Irani who is pitched against Congress President Rahul Gandhi for the mega battle of ballots.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had accompanied Smriti Irani during her nominations on April 11. Irani in a run-up to the national elections 2019 is taking on Rahul Gandhi who is seeking the fourth term as an MP from the parliamentary seat.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is also expected to be in Amethi today.

Besides Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Kerala’s Wayanad parliamentary constituency.

Rahul Gandhi has entered the Lok Sabha for the First time in 2004 contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha Seat. Amethi in the past has been represented by Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi. Accept the year 1977, and 1998, Amethi has always a Congress Nominee.

In 2014 General Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Smriti Irani against Rahul Gandhi who gave a tough fight to Congress President. The Margin of winning that used to be over 2-3 lakhs in past was reduced to just 1 Lakh in previous polls.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases starting April 11 to May 19. Phase-V is slated for May 6. Uttar Pradesh for its 80 Parliamentary seats will poll in all seven phases till May 19.

Amethi to elect a new Member of Parliament will poll on May 6.
