Upendra Kushwaha quits JDU to form Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal

Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Upendra Kushwaha in Bihar quit the party and resigned from all party positions  on Monday. Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal  (RLJD) is a new political party that Kushwaha also established. He has also resigned  from the post of Member Legislative Council.

Kushwaha claimed he had taken this decision after two days of meeting with workers in Patna. He also resigned from his membership in the legislative council.

Talking to the media after resignation, Upendra Kushwaha claimed that, with the exception of a select few, everyone in the JDU was voicing their concerns. Kushwaha alleged Nitish Kumar did good in the beginning but in the end, the path on which he started walking is bad for him and Bihar.

He said that the public had earlier given the responsibility to Lalu Prasad to handle the legacy of Jannayak Kapuri Thakur, but when he started tarnishing this legacy, the responsibility shifted to Nitish Kumar.

He said that Nitish Kumar has mortgaged his legacy in the hands of the one from whom the people had given him the responsibility of saving him. He, however, added that Nitish Kumar had done a good job of carrying forward that legacy, but in the end he had failed. Now when the end is bad then all is bad. He said that Nitish Kumar himself has not yet made a successor to handle this legacy and now he is looking for a successor in the neighboring house.

Kushwaha said that this is the reason why the people of the party have now decided that they will have to take the responsibility of maintaining the legacy of Jananayak. He said that now there is no question of sharing with Nitish Kumar, because he has nothing now. He said that work will be done to break the legacy that Nitish Kumar has mortgaged among the public. Kushwaha was angry with the party leadership for the last several days and was continuously targeting the leadership.
