The state of Uttar Pradesh is set to get projects worth over Rs 1 lakh crore for its highways.

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 80 highway projects in Lucknow. Along with that he is also likely to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several projects under ‘Namami Gange’ programme worth over Rs 1,969 crore.

He is also likely to inaugurate several projects under the Namami Gange banner, which also includes laying of sewerage network in Prayagraj worth Rs 260.86 crore.

Also, Rajnath Singh is likely to inaugurate the laying of sewerage network including 2 STPs of 9MLD capacity in Garh Mukteshwar worth Rs 46.51 crore and laying of sewerage network and 13 MLD STP works in Kannauj worth Rs 80.66 crore.

The new national highway projects include NH-56 and NH-233 and NH-293.

It is considered that sections of ‘Lucknow-Sultanpur’ of NH-54 is to be four-laned along with ‘four-laning’ of Kursi Road–Ayodhya Road section of Lucknow.

Also ‘four- laning’ of Ghaghra Bridge to Budhanpur section on NH-233, along with widening to two-lane of ‘Sonoli- Gorakhpur’ section on NH-29E.

The Home Minister is also likely to lay the foundation stone for the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway construction.

Other projects include construction of flyover at IIM crossing, construction of Ghazipur-‘Phephna-Majhighat’ road on NH-31A. Along with construction of flyovers, bypasses, FOBs, underpasses for the betterment of road safety on different highways.

The bundle of projects also include construction of four lane ‘Mathura -Hathras- Badaun’ road on NH-530B.

The development projects also include construction of four lane Aligarh-Kanpur road in NH-91, construction of four lane Unnao- Lalganj road on NH-232A, and widening to six lanes of Chakeri (Kanpur)-Prayagraj road on NH-2.

Rajnath Singh is also likely to lay the foundation stone for construction of Amethi Bypass.

It is considered that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for various projects will be initiated on the occasion.
