The Congress state party chief of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot has pointed out an ongoing rumour of Vasundhara Raje seeking to change her constituency seat for upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections from Jhalrapatan owing to her growing unpopularity among the masses.

Pilot had said that the rumors are abuzz of Raje looking for another constituency to fight the elections. TOI quoted him as saying, “I was in Kota on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) and found that people in Hadauti were talking about the chief minister searching for a safe constituency” .

He also took a dig at the rift in the relationship between Raje and Amit Shah as both of them are following their own discourse in campaigning for the elections. Referring to Raje’s much-hyped Gaurav Yatra, he said one was busy taking out Gaurav Yatra while Amit Shah addressed Shakti Kendra Samelan for BJP party workers.

He also said that the CM has even neglected her own constituency as being pointed out by the letter sent by the Jhalawar collector to the state government that the district is still backwards and need funds for basic amenities such as education. The district has also seen suicides by farmers and there have been law and order issues as well.

Although BJP spokesperson Satish Poonia has rubbished these rumors, he said that changing constituency is not something illegal.

According to sources, Vasundhara Raje might contest the election from Dholpur as well as Jhalrapatan both. The state is witnessing anti-incumbency wave and lately there have been massive protests against the government by the employees working for the state.
