As speculated, Venkaiah Naidu has been announced as NDA’s candidate for the post of Vice President. The current union minister is likely to file his nomination tomorrow. Tomorrow, 18th July is the last date to file the nomination for the election of Vice President. The opposition camp has already declared their candidacy for the election.

In a meeting held in evening, the decision was taken and announced by BJP chief, Amit Shah. The meeting of BJP’s parliamentary board was attended by Narendra Modi, Sushma Swaraj, Amit Shah and various other senior BJP leaders. The election for the post of vice president will take place on August 5 and the results will be announced on the same day.

While announcing the candidature of Naidu, Amit Shah stated that he has been in public life since the 1970s. His commitment towards the party and the country is the biggest reason behind him being elected as the candidate. Amit Shah also stated that the opposition has already announced their candidate for the elections, so there is no chance of a vice president approved by all the parties.

Venkaiah Naidu will file his nomination tomorrow at 11 am.
