Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday expressed displeasure over regular adjournments of Rajya Sabha Sessions in the winter session of parliament and pulled by Members of House for their ‘improper behavior and functioning’.

Sources said that Vice President Naidu on Thursday in Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting said despite all the demands of opposition parties – Discussion on Rafale Deal, Titli Cyclone and Reserve Bank of India are accepted, the Rajya Sabha was not allowed to function properly.

Vice President Naidu termed the situation as ‘Pathetic’ reportedly.

Sources added that the Rajya Sabha Chairman further said that those members who were speaking to the media and expressing concerns about the adjournment were the ones who later created ruckus in the house and disturbed the proceedings. He also expressed concerns about few members saying that they are not following the rules and regulations of the Upper House.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Sources while expressing displeasure over disruption in reportedly said: “Despite giving assurance at the BAC meeting that the Rajya Sabhas will run properly, after entering here, you people get instructions from your party and after that, all the ruckus happens. It has become a normal practice and it is not a good message for the people of this country.”

Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day on Thursday without doing any business following uproar over several issues ranging from construction of a dam on the Cauvery River to violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district.

While slogan-shouting members of Tamil parties, AIADMK and DMK jumped into the well of the House over the construction of Mekadatu Dam on Cauvery River.

While Samajwadi Party and BSP members raised the issue of mob violence in Bulandshahr that left two dead, including an inspector rank police officer.
