Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav while talking to the media during a private party of an SP leader, indirectly targeting BJP said that those who won 25 seats in the recent Uttar Pradesh polls were discouraging away his MLCs and they are not willing to face the public again now.

“People are evaluating the works. So, those who had recently won 325 seats and who have to face the people (again) for entering the Assembly do not have the courage to do and therefore are weaning away our MLCs,” Akhilesh said.

SP MLC Sarojini Agarwal on Saturday resigned from the party. In the past few days, 2 other MLC also gave their resignation and have joined BJP, marking a total of 3 MLCs leaving the party.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with four of his ministers have to appear for the to either of the two houses to retain their ministerial post.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged the Yodi government of not fulfilling its promises made during the elections. He said they had given false hope to the people of getting back the good days, just to come to power. He questioned that where are the good days? Akhilesh further added that those who wanted to leave the party and go can go, the party is not stopping anyone.
