Expressing his views on the recently formed government in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that his party will work towards providing the state with a stable government. The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering of party workers at the party’s office.

As quoted by ANI, he said, “We will provide a stable government. Everything is possible when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is there.”

In an unusual development, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister for a second term. Along with him, NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of the state. The oath of office and secrecy was administered by the state Governor BS Koshyari at the Raj Bhavan.

Earlier in the day, Ajit Pawar was expelled from his party and leader Nawab Malik said that a resolution has been passed unanimously that the party does not back Ajit Pawar’s decision. Therefore, he has been removed as the NCP legislative party leader. Party has said that the NCP chief Jayant Patil will be having all the constitutional rights till the next legislature party leader is selected.

On the related note, The Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance have even moved a petition in the court to oppose the government formation. Supreme Court has allowed hearing the petition at 11.30 am on Sunday.

Congress party termed the date of November 23 as “Black Day“. Reacting to the news, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Kumari Selja had said that the saffron party used unethical means to hold onto power.
