BJP MLAs and Ministers seem to have quite a penchant for renaming the names of the cities and towns in the country. This time an MLA named Raja Singh has come up with a suggestion of renaming Hyderabad and Secunderabad if the BJP will come to power in Telangana. The statement was made by him on Thursday which said that if the BJP will win maximum seats in the December 7 assembly elections, they will rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar.

He further added that both Secunderabad and Karimnagar would also be rechristened. Singh said that Hyderabad was earlier known as Bhagyanagar but Quli Qutub Shah in 1590 changed its name to Hyderabad.

Raja Singh who represents Goshamahal assembly constituency told ANI, “At that time, many Hindus were attacked, many temples destroyed. In Telangana, BJP will win a majority and then our first aim will be developing the state and second will be renaming Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar. We will also change the names of Secunderabad and Karimnagar”.

Singh also said that the areas named after Mughals and Nizams would be renamed after the people who fought for Telangana and the country. BJP ministers to be onn a name changing spree government as these revelations are made back to back. In Uttar Pradesh Yogi has already renamed Allahabad, Mughalsarai and Faizabad.

The Gujarat government has also proposed the renaming of Ahmedabad as Karnavati. Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has ssaid, “We are contemplating changing the name of Ahmedabad to Karnavati, the talks of which have been going on since a long time. Concrete steps will be taken after looking at it from legal and all other angles. We will think about it in the time to come.”

Singh further stated that the areas named after Mughals and Nizams would be renamed after the people who fought for Telangana and the country.

The Shiv Sena has also joined the brigade and asked Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as to when would the state government rename Aurangabad and Osmanabad. “Yogi Adityanath has renamed Allahabad and Faizabad to Pragyaraj and Ayodhya. When will CM Devendra Fadnavis rename Aurangabad to Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv Nagar?” Shiv SenaMP Sanjay Raut tweeted on Thursday.
