Virendra Singh ‘Mast‘, BJP‘s Bhadohi MP and president of Kisan Morcha on Thursday attacked the Former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, questioning him his credibility during his tenure.

Virendra Singh reminded the former Finance Minister of his performance and the way he was forced to quit from the post when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister in 2002. Singh also quoted the word said by labour union leader late Dattopant Thengadi’s views on Sinha. He said that Yashwant Singh was not an“arth mantri” (finance minister) but “anarth mantri”. Virendra Singh also called him an opportunist.

The farmers’ leader in his statement to the press said that Yashwant Sinha is getting desperate and his condition can be understood. He said, “Sinhaji bechain hai aur unki bechaini samjhi ja sakti hai.”

These comments of the BJP’s MP come as a result of the statements made by Yashwant Sinha a few days back. The former Finance Minister is also feeling sidelined by the party. Attacking the Modi government on the slowing economy and decline in GDP, a few days back he had said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seen poverty and now he and his Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wants the nation to see poverty.

Virendra Singh alleged that Yashwant Sinha had himself failed miserably as a Finance Minister and was replaced by Jaswant Singh in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, he has no right to question the performance of the incumbent Finance Minister. “Unhe apne kaalkhand ko yaad rakhna chahiye (he should remember his past),” he added.

Further, attacking Sinha, Virendra Singh said that the latter had no ideology of his own and added that those who were the BJP members knew how the party functioned and what was its ideology. “Had there not been freedom in the party, Amit Shah could not have become president of BJP,” he said.

He also denied the allegation put by Yashwant Sinha, that the BJP members were not raising their voice against the Modi government on the deteriorating economic condition of India was because they were scared of the higher official. Responding to this Singh said that this is not correct at all, as both the Prime Minister and the BJP Party President encouraged the party members to raise and discuss their opinions and issues faced by them.
