Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Meeting that took place in ‘Sangam’ today announced to make the world’s longest expressway. After the Meeting, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said ‘Cabinet has decided to make Ganga-Expressway, to connect Prayagraj with Western Uttar Pradesh. This will be the world’s longest expressway, approximately 600 km, it will take 6,556 hectares of land, it will cost approximately  36,000 crore’.

He added that the Ganga-Expressway will go through areas including Meerut-Amroha-Bulandshahr-Budaun-Shahjahanpur-Kannauj-Unnao-Raebareli-Pratapgarh and arrive at Prayagraj.

It will be initially be developed as a four-lane expressway and later expandable to six-lane.

The Cabinet that met in Prayagraj also decided to exempt Movie ‘Uri‘ from tax. CM Yogi said, “There is a movie on the surgical strikes ‘Uri’, the cabinet has decided to exempt it from state GST. This film will instill a feeling of nationalism in the youth and the citizens of the country”

Adityanath also announced the development of Bundelkhand Expressway and beautification drive of Maharishi Valmiki Ashram and Maharshi Bharadwaj Ashram.

The Uttar Pradesh had on Tuesday held its Cabinet Meeting in Prayagraj on the banks of the Sangam during ‘Kumbh’ Mela. Deputy Chief Minister speaking on the decision to host Cabinet meeting in Prayagraj said that “The cabinet meeting at Sangam will send a strong signal to the world on the significance of the mega event”.

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated 4200 crores for this year Ardh Kumbh, more than thrice the budget of the Purna Kumbh in 2013, which occurs every 12 years. Though this is Ardh Kumbh but the Bhartiya Janta Party government in the state has changed its name to ‘Kumbh’ and Poorna Kumbh which happened in every 12 years have been renamed to ‘Maha Kumbh’.

Prayagraj, earlier known as Allahabad, is all decked up for the Kumbh Mela. From street art to top-of-the-line tents to over 1.22 lakh toilets, the Uttar Pradesh government has not left any stone unturned in order to make the religious event a big success.
