Claiming Smriti Irani visits Amethi more than Sitting MP Rahul Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi who is seeking another term from Amethi. Yogi Adityanath who was in the district to seek votes for Union Minister Smriti Irani said, ‘In the last 15 years Smriti Irani visited Amethi more than Rahul Gandhi who is an MP from here (Amethi).’

Hailing his government at Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP CM said, ‘Across the country, people want PM Modi and BJP government once again, they have made up their minds’. He further said that it was just Modi wave in 2014 but now in 2019 its the Modi wave along with work that party has done in the past 5 years.

Praising the government’s flagship programmes, Yogi Adityanath said, under Modi Government, we have given 1.5 crores houses to the poor, 50 crore peoples have been given Health Insurance. He on the occasion also hailed his government in the state.

UP CM added, ‘We have improved the conditions of more than 1,15,000 schools in the state.’ While the country has witnessed massive infrastructure development under Modi government’.

He also slammed Congress for crying ‘foul’ over EVM issue. He said Congress has a sense that they are losing hence blaming the EMVs.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had accompanied Smriti Irani during her nominations on April 11. Irani in a run-up to the national elections 2019 is taking on Rahul Gandhi who is seeking the fourth term as an MP from the parliamentary seat.

Besides Amethi, Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Kerala’s Wayanad parliamentary constituency.

Rahul Gandhi has entered the Lok Sabha for the First time in 2004 contesting from Amethi Lok Sabha Seat. Amethi in the past has been represented by Sonia Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi. Accept the year 1977, and 1998, Amethi has always elected a Congress Nominee.

In 2014 General Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party fielded Smriti Irani against Rahul Gandhi who gave a tough fight to Congress President. The Margin of winning that used to be over 2-3 lakhs in past was reduced to just 1 Lakh in previous polls.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases starting April 11 to May 19. Phase-V is slated for May 6. Uttar Pradesh for its 80 Parliamentary seats will poll in all seven phases till May 19.

Amethi to elect a new Member of Parliament will poll on May 6.
