If you are a spiritual person and want to visit a temple in Bangalore, ISKCON temple in Rajajinagar would be an excellent choice. This is one of the most prominent, impressive and divine Vaishnav temples in the city, dedicated to Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. It is situated in the Hare Krishna Hills, West of Chord Road, Rajajinagar, North Bangalore.

ISKCON Bangalore, inspired by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, is known to be among the leading ISKCON temples. It echoes the philosophies of the Hare Krishna movement preached by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness(ISKCON).

While the temple is mainly dedicated to the worship of Lord Krishna, there are three shrines in its campus. The first shrine is within a small temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha. A second shrine is dedicated to Lord Venkatesh or Tirupati Balaji. The main temple complex houses statues of Krishna Balaram, Radha Krishna and Nitya Gauranga. The ideal time to visit it would be at 7:15 a.m., just in time for the Aarti and Kirtan or 8:00 p.m. for the Aarti and Palki utsav.

While it boasts of excellent architecture and scenery, this temple is largely known for the divine feel it invokes within you. The atmosphere created with the breathtaking statues and the bhajans in the background makes you feel closer to God than ever before. Added to that is the scenery around to make you feel peaceful, less worldly and less materialistic.

Following the Darshan, you are led around the temple complex, where there are animated movies starring Bal Krishna and books about the life of Krishna and the Indian heritage. You get prasadam on your way back and can also buy additional Prasad. The canteen has a variety of delicacies to gorge upon. There are statues, mementos, clothes and other items on sale. Besides, you can grab a bite at the restaurants and food stalls around. The pond in the temple campus has a calming effect on the surroundings indeed.

ISKCON Bangalore is also accredited with the formation of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which is involved in the implementation of the Mid-day Meal program for Government schools and Government-aided schools all over the country. It provides hygienic, nutritious and delicious food to lakhs of students each day for free. Everything from the organization of the kitchens to the prompt food supply to the usage of vans has been implemented very well. All the donations made to this temple go towards such noble causes and are tax-deductible too.

The temple is maintained very well and is spotlessly clean at all times. Hygiene and cleanliness are given top priority. The organization of the queues has been well planned out and free from all sorts of confusion. There is also a park in the complex for kids.

Overall, if you are a lover of architecture or a spiritual person or a nature lover, then ISKCON Bangalore is a must visit.
