So after the cross-posting posts, Facebook is looking to enable cross-posting stories on Instagram and Facebook.

Facebook is testing this feature where your Insta followers can view your Instagram story through Facebook.

Facebook explains that “now your followers can choose to view your Instagram story from Facebook.” People who have linked their Facebook account on Instagram and are your followers can view the story on Facebook.

Users will know whether it is a Facebook story or an Insta story by the color. The Facebook stories will have blue color whereas Instagram will have the traditional pink and orange circles around them.

This feature simply gives people who follow you on Instagram the ability to also view the same stories in the Facebook app. Don’t know how this feature will bring any change. Maybe Facebook is just trying to increase user activity on Facebook among the younger generation, who prefer Instagram and Snapchat over Facebook.

This is what the Facebook spokesperson had to say.

“We’re testing a new feature that gives people the option to view stories from Instagram on Facebook, making it easier to view moments from people you care about, regardless of what app you’re using. To see Instagram Stories on Facebook, people must have their accounts linked and opt into the experience. This feature respects all privacy settings, and people on Instagram can choose to not have their stories visible on Facebook.”

Personally I won’t opt-in for this feature. My Facebook friends are my Insta followers so I don’t find any need for this. Also, only the ones who follow you on Insta will see the story on Facebook. So if no new person will see it, why should I opt-in for this feature.
