Facebook to provide screen sharing on messenger

The feature of screen sharing plays a major role in video conferencing apps. However, this essential feature lacks in personal video calling apps. In recent months, Facebook has been updating its Messenger video calling services and as per the reports they are adding the option of screen sharing.

Although, on the desktop Facebook Messenger allows users to share screens for a limited period of time. After being in beta for a few months, this feature would be brought over to the mobile apps. The feature also allows users to have one-on-one video calls and in group calls with around 8-16 people in rooms. The team of Facebook is also working on sharing of screens available in rooms on the desktop.

Screen sharing works pretty good in Facebook Messenger. You just need to simply swipe up in a call to access the option of screen sharing. You need to go through a couple of confirmations to make sure you want to share the screen. Once you accept the confirmations, you will start broadcasting a live view of the screen of your phone.

Screen sharing can be vital when it comes to non-official video calls for different reasons. Users can open their camera and show any of the recent photos. One can also share any of the recipes on the website and cook simultaneously while having conversation. It becomes easier to explain in case anyone needs technical help.

Globally, the feature of screen sharing is rolling out in the latest version of the app for iOS and Android.
