From Facebook

As we all know, Big Tech Companies are under scrutiny currently. And the very first precautionary step being taken  by Facebook seems to be ‘Rebranding.’ According to reports coming in from The Information, Facebook has already notified its employees that the company will be adding its name to Instagram and WhatsApp. a ‘from Facebook’ tag will be introduced after the names Instagram and WhatsApp. Hence, the new name will go as: “Instagram from Facebook” and “WhatsApp from Facebook.”

Facebook in recent times has been actively involved in a series of privacy and security scandals. This, in turn, has put the company under strict observation. Presently, Instagram and WhatsApp operate independently and they don’t boast the Facebook name. However, as all the apps may intervene with one another in the near future, The social network is trying to make it possible for users who use Facebook Messenger, Instagram direct message and WhatsApp to send messages to each other without having to switch apps.

The new names will be displayed in the title for both apps or you can even search with the new name in Apple’s App Store and Google Play. However, for now, the name for each will remain the same on your device’s home screen. But it’s also very likely that you’ll see “from Facebook” on the splash screen for both apps. Facebook already made this exact change with Oculus.
