Facebook on Friday revealed that it spent $20 million on the personal security of CEO Mark Zuckerberg, as per an SEC filing.

Like some other founder-CEOs, including Google‘s Larry Page and Apple‘s late co-founder Steve Jobs, Zuckerberg only takes $1 each year as salary. However, the total compensation from him amounted up to $22.6 million, most of which was spent on “overall security program” for him and his family at home during personal travel. Since 2017, when he used to spend $9.1 million in total compensation, the number has doubled.

Facebook also said that it spent $2.6 million on private plane costs. The figure is also included in Zuckerberg’s total compensation and has seen a rise from last year’s $1.5 million. According to Facebook, the aircraft expenses went to charter companies and included “passenger fees, fuel, crew, and catering costs.”

The company also admitted to spending  $2.9 million on personal security for COO Sheryl Sandberg, slightly up from last year’s number of $2.6 million. In terms of her private plane costs, the company spent more than $900,000.

The social media giant declined to comment beyond the filing.

The rise in security and travel costs come as development on Facebook’s involvement in various privacy and security breaches. The social media platform has been under intense scrutiny regarding its interference with elections, data misuse, and the inability to police toxic content from its platform.

Facebook also said on Friday that it is making some changes with its board. The company declared that it will not be renominating Netflix CEO Reed Hastings and nominated Peggy Alford, PayPal’s senior vice president of core markets. Once approved at the company’s annual stockholders meeting in May, Alford would be the first African-American female to serve on Facebook’s board of directors.
