WhatsApp is now a very popular messaging app available in everyone’s phone nowadays. WhatsApp has been testing a new feature known as Vacation Mode from a very long time. However, recent reports stated that the feature was shelved after being in development stage for two years. Now there is some fresh news regarding this. A report by WABetaInfo has said that WhatsApp has again started to develop the Vacation Mode feature which was briefly known as “Ignore Archived Chats”.
The Vacation Mode feature will let the users to ignore archived chats. WhatsApp has put archived chats option at the bottom. The details are popped back ok the top when a new message arrives at the archived chat. However, Vacation Mode will keep the archived chats hidden. Archived chats will have a separate section at the top of the chat window. When users will click on Archived Chats section, they would be able to see all their archived chats with a Notification button which will help the users to customise things according to their requirements.
Right now there are two toggle buttons at the Notification section. The first one notifies about new messages and if disabled, it hides the archived chats. The other one is Auto Hide Inactive Chats that can automatically archive a chat if there is no reply or other activity for six months. It is still in the stage of development. WhatsApp will also add some new media guidelines and it will provide users with the facility of aligning emojis, text and stickers in images, videos and GIFs. This particular feature is also under development.
