Since the depreciation of Play music is underway, YouTube Music has continued to onslaught the new features. YouTube Music has now rolled out high-level filters that lets users customize the homepage and the six “My Mixes”.

The top side of the Home feed now includes four filters – Workout, Focus, Relax and Commute. Tapping an item at the “activity bar” would reload the feed with personalized recommendations and playlists for the “everyday” task.

For example, if you are starting a workout, tap the Workout icon which will take you to the dedicated personalized homepage full of playlists that would perfectly suit for the workout. Users will also get four new personalized Workout Mixes that would feature the songs known and loved by the user and other great recommendations. To match the mood, users can navigate over to the Relax or Focus icons and they would get personalized Mixes to help them keep calm ans carry on.

Along with the carousel chip being highlighted, the normal black background would display an appropriate header image behind the Music logo, microphone icon and the profile avatar. The feature was at first spotted in testing in the month of September  and users can tap their selection anytime to return back to the normal “Home” feed.

Google is also introducing more playlists that has been algorithmically tuned for users. All six of the YouTube “My Mixes” has a different corner of the user’s music world. The company states that they are always updating.

Users can pick the vibe and hit the ‘play’ button to hear hours of music that blends some of their favourite songs with new favourites that are tied together through a cohesive sonic theme.

This also expands the ‘Mixed for you” shell from the four items and joins the recent “My Supermix” rebrand. Initially known as “Your Mix”, the flagship playlist combines all the music tastes of the user to one eclectic listening experience. The two new features are now rolling out to Android and iOS.
