Asus Zenfone 5Z

Asus has finally started rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie for Asus Zenfone 5Z. The company has promised the Android Pie update for the Zenfone 5Z back in November.

Asus says that the update has been available to users via OTA(over the air) mode.

Not unlike other software updates, the update is set to roll out in stages. However, eager Android users who find it difficult to wait any longer can try booting the update manually by going to the Settings, then selecting the About option and opening the System Update.

The update is about 1080MB in volume and is said to be bringing new features like new contextual pop-up volume bar, a new Magnifier feature for an easier copy-and-paste option along with an improvement in the overall system performance.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z was introduced at the Mobile World Congress in February 2018 and made its way to the Indian market by July 2018 at  ₹29,999. The phone came with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box and was promised to be later updated to the Android Pie.

The two other popular devices from Asus, the ROG phone and the Max Pro M1, are also rumored to get the Android 9.0 Pie soon.

The Zenfone 5Z sports a glass sandwich design with a 6.2-inch IPS Full HD+ display. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB and 8GB of RAM, according to the variant.

In terms of optics, the phone houses dual cameras setup at the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. At the front, the camera has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Zenfone 5Z is backed up by 3330 mAh battery with Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0 support.
