Reliance Jio has launched JioPages, a made-in-India browser. Jio says that the browser puts focus on data privacy and offers users control over their in formation. Jio also added that the browser offers superior performance in comparison to its peers.  The browser is built on the Chromium Blink engine and offers improved browsing experience via faster engine migration, best webpage rendering, fast page loads, efficient media streaming, Emoji domain support and encrypted connection.

The key features of JioPages :

Personalised Home Screen –

There is an option to set any search engines like Google, Bing, MSN, Yahoo or Duck Duck Go as the default search option. Users can also pin the links of various websites on the home screen for easier access.

Personalised theme –

Users can also choose from a long list of colourful background themes. JioPages also supports ‘Dark Mode’.

Personalised content –

The content section has been customized to suit according to preferences of the user on the basis of language, topic and region. The browser notifies users on topics that are important or of interest to the users.

Cards –

There is a feature called ‘Informative Card’ that can capture key numbers, trends, symbols or headlines of a particular topic. For instance, stock market trends, prices of the commodity or cricket scores are displayed as compact clickable banners at the screen.

8 Indian languages support –

JioPages supports 8 Indian languages which includes Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. There is also an option to customize the content feed on the basis of the preferred state.

Advanced Download Manager –

JioPages categorizes downloads on the basis of file type like Image, Video, Document or Pages.

Incognito Mode –

There is Incognito Mode that activates private browsing and prevents the browsing history from getting stored in the system. There is also an option to set a four-digit security PIN or fingerprint as an access code for Incognito mode.

Ad Blocker –

JioPages has claimed to block unnecessary ads and popups.

How to download :

JioPages is available on Google Play Store and users can directly download it from there or using a QR code. The browser is at present available only for Android phones.
