Tesla cars are known for their autopilot hardware. Tesla has always been working  on improving the autopilot in their cars. With every update, Tesla cars are becoming smarter. The cars are able to detect trucks, cars, and pedestrians and can plan accordingly. This week Tesla rolled out a new software update version 2019.36.1, after this update, the autopilot sensors can now detect traffic cones on the road and show it in the screen.

Tesla wrote in the release note of the Update- “The driving visualization now displays traffic cones. In cases where a traffic cone is detected and Navigate on Autopilot is engaged (requires Full Self Driving Capability), the vehicle is designed to suggest a lane change (or attempt a lane if REQUIRE LANE CHANGE CONFIRMATION is set to NO) to avoid cones. As always, you are responsible for your vehicle and are required to pay attention at all times.”

This new update has been rolled out after one of the major updates to the Autopilot driving visualization tool. A few months ago, Tesla rolled out a software update in which the sensors can zoom in and out as well as the 360-degree view of the surroundings. Tesla is always working on improving the autopilot system with time to time updates. Tesla has always been suggesting drivers that they should not rely on the autopilot and they should always keep an eye on the road.
